Based in Alderley Edge, Cheshire for over fifteen years, Annabelle & Co is grounded in a setting long associated with a landscape synonymous with some of England’s most distinguished country homes. Working from a meticulously restored cart barn nestled among rolling countryside, we draw continual inspiration from the rural landscapes, respect for context and a commitment to craftsmanship. As our studio has grown, so too has our reach. We have expanded beyond our Cheshire roots to design and deliver substantial country homes across the Peak District, Oxfordshire, Devon, Yorkshire and Shropshire.

From bespoke new builds to country estates our work is rooted across some of England’s most distinguished landscapes.

We believe good design results in spaces that feel inevitable, from the way sunlight floods through a space to the relationship between built form and open landscape, each project is a considered response to its setting and the lives it will hold.

Our work extends from private residences to the careful shaping of country estates, where a collection of buildings, landscapes and histories are brought together under a singular, coherent vision. Whether unlocking the potential of land or stewarding the evolution of an existing estate, we approach every project with a long-term perspective, balancing planning, design and commercial awareness with architectural integrity. We listen closely, advise strategically and lead with clarity from concept to completion.

Layered with aged oak, natural stone, bespoke joinery and tactile finishes, our interiors are enriched by carefully curated artwork, found furnishings and artisanal pieces that lend depth, character and a sense of permanence to every home.

Our extensive experience working with Green Belt land, listed buildings and Conservation Areas enables us to navigate complexity with confidence. We bring clarity to each stage of the project, unlocking opportunity while safeguarding the qualities that make each site distinct.

Through considered proportions, natural materials and a careful relationship between house, landscape and interior, we create homes that feel both grounded and quietly extraordinary. In heritage settings, we preserve and celebrate the craftsmanship that defines them. Where new architecture is introduced, they are a contemporary continuation, enhanced by a natural dialogue between old and new. Across estates and individual homes alike, architecture, interiors and landscape are conceived as one.

At Annabelle & Co, we create spaces of beauty, texture and quiet distinction, country homes to live fully, gather often, and pass on with pride.

Interiors

Bespoke Joinery . Finishes . Lighting Design . Materiality . Kitchen & Bathroom Design .

We believe interior design is an integral part of the architectural process. We create interiors that are calm, considered and enduring, shaped by natural light, carefully balanced proportions and a refined approach to materiality. Layering natural textures, crafted finishes and bespoke joinery, we create spaces that feel both sophisticated and deeply comfortable.

Every element is thoughtfully resolved, from spatial flow and architectural detailing to lighting and joinery design. Whether for a contemporary country house or a heritage renovation, our interiors are designed alongside the architecture, creating cohesive homes that are beautiful to live in and timeless in character.

Landscaping

Estate Masterplanning . Swimming Pools . Outdoor Dining & Kitchens . Walled Gardens . Sports & Recreation.

Grounded in the character of each site, we believe the landscape should feel inseparable from the home itself, extending the experience of architecture beyond its walls. Our landscape designs are shaped by the character of the site, creating a seamless dialogue between house, garden and the wider countryside. Through careful composition, proportion and materiality, we create outdoor spaces that feel both purposeful and enduring.

From arrival courtyards and garden terraces to swimming pools, outbuildings and wider estate settings, every element is considered as part of a cohesive whole. The result is a landscape that enhances daily life, strengthens a sense of place and blurs the boundary between home and countryside.
