Designed for a passionate chef, the brief centred on transforming a series of formal period rooms into a home that celebrates cooking, entertaining and everyday family rituals.
Working with older buildings requires a careful understanding of their construction, ensuring new interventions respect the integrity of the existing structure while allowing it to perform for generations to come.
Throughout the project, original features were restored wherever possible, with new materials and detailing selected to complement the quality, craftsmanship and character of the Victorian home. The internal layout was thoughtfully reorganised, introducing bespoke joinery and carefully considered spaces for cooking, reading, working and gathering.
Natural materials, restrained detailing and a calm architectural palette provide a timeless backdrop for family life, while moments such as a secluded writing nook create quiet spaces for creativity and reflection
Developed in close collaboration with Fiona Watkins Design, the interiors complement the architectural vision through carefully considered materials, craftsmanship and bespoke detailing.
Together, the project demonstrates how thoughtful architecture and interior design can work seamlessly to breathe new life into a period home while respecting its historic character.
